The kickstand(s) interference. The handguard and windshield interference. WTF? Some of his complaints are subjective. Chain v. shaft? That will be debated from now until the end of time. But those two interference issues are minor but unacceptable. He's right, did nobody talk together about the offending parts? Apparently, computer aided design was not used. And does it really have a 4k rpm redline? Makes for a lot of shifting unless the powerband works well I guess.

There's been some guys here that have ridden it. Is this guy just bustin' on the Harley or do y'all agree with the crappy handling and brakes? I've read an awful lot of reviews saying how great a bike it is. Which is it?
the Pan America I rode was nice. It would rev past 4K easy. Maybe it has a rev limiter for the bike being in neutral or something. I didn't try that. The one I rode had excellent breaks! Very strong and very controlled. I won't say they had the best feel of some other bikes I rode but they did have good feel and were very strong. I did like that about the Pan America. As far as the low speed handling it was no worse than My Super T. The problem for me just as it was on my Super T the bars are way too far away from me. With my arms extended very far flipping a heavy bike back and forth is hard for me and when the weight gets started one way or another I really have to put effort in to bringing it back. It is tiring. If I lean forward so I can use my core more instead of my extended arms to handle the weight I didn't seem to be able to lock into the bike with my legs. Same thing on my Super T. So as far as the handling I say no it was fine. I just needed to move the bars closer to me but not higher. As far as the kick stand I don't know I never tried the center stand. The hand guards didn't hit the wind shield on the bike I rode and that bike had the bars rolled way forward. I did rotate the bars left and right sitting still but in order to do a full lock turn I had to stand up because the bar went out further than my reach! I thought it was a great first effort but it definitely isn't the bike for me. there were a lot of things I did like about it but a lot I didn't. Oh by the way the Pan America for me handled way better than the BMW GS I rode even though I could do slow full lock turns easy on the GS.

Could be indeed. But the same people around me here say that AT feels heavier due to its high center of gravity despite being lighter than S10... it is certainly subjectif but I agree that pounds for pounds AT is lighter and 40kgs is not negligeable

Riding a Honda AT and the Yamaha T7 I thought they both felt lighter than the Super T but I never had to pick one up. The Africa twin I rode was the base model and had a lowered seat on it. I am sure the lower seat made a big difference. It was easier to pick up off the kick stand than the T7 was! I thought they both handled road duties just fine too. The 21 inch front wheels didn't bother me on the road but I am not a corner carving peg scraper either.

Sometimes, being a Silverback has its advantages. When I leave the gym, I do a bar lock left turn off the curb with only the slightest bump. There's a guy that rides, or actually rode when it was cooler, a big Harley. He was surprised that the bike would make the turn that tight with no issues. She fits me perfect and is the best slow speed handling bike I've ever had.

I have never been the strongest person around by a long shot. I can pick the big girl up off the ground with no help and even when it is loaded but it is all legs doing it! My arms are worthless. haha.

To me she loses about a hundred pounds once she starts rolling. But if you don't have money long arms, like me, keeping hold of the grips could be challenging.

Yes i agree! I moved my bars back towards me 2 or 3 years ago. should have done that the day I bought it but now it is like flipping a light bike through the corners. My left right left transitions are fast controlled and easy! Use my core that is now balanced on the bike and pressure on my knees and heels to control the bike and quick light counter steering with no weight on my arms and bars to initiate the direction changes. It is beautiful when things are just right.

I am 5’8” and strong enough yet in my early 60’s to pick up the ST.
I sat on a AT in showroom that was on side stand. I could not get it upright (in between row of bikes).
Salesman laughed ( he was older than me so allowed. Lol)
He said thats not gonna work. Lol. I would have to agree.

The 901 is way too tall as well to use in any 2up riding

Very interested to hear how you make out with this.
A V85Tt was on my list when i found a great local private deal on my 2020ST.

I was not able to find a V85 to even sit on within 4hr ride. Was warned by local dealer about parts procurement, etc.

When in Tennessee a couple weeks ago , came across one. Talked to guy for a while. He loved it on the curvy roads down there(a local) . He said easily achieve 300miles/500km on a tank if riding reasonably.
Talked some about heat. Said most came from cat on right foot. He was going to lose that part after warranty.

It looked tiny compared to my travel loaded ST.

I have to admit the new BMW R1300GS has caught my eye. Waaaaaaay too much electronics and too much money for me. I will ride my Super T in the ground first. That is going to take a very long time yet

I know the feeling, i like the looks of it too. Would love to ride one as a testride one day. But dang all the electronics and the problems the predecessor had.. oh and the money that too.

In their product presentation they said that they reduced the complications...Well then I guess it is relative...

Note also that the gas tank has bee reduced down to 5 gallon...the entire frame and engine have been redesigned so if you want to get one I would suggest to wait for the 3rd or 4th iteration for your own safety, life and the love of your loved ones...
