I did Mt. Washington back in '87. Mazda B2000. It was steep enough that with three of us jammed into the cab, it took 1st gear all the way to the top. And hardly any of it was paved. ...
There was just a very short stretch unpaved a couple years ago when I was last there but because of how narrow it is and so close to the traffic crawling the other way i was still a bit of a challenge. Gotta watch the direction you park a bike at the top due to the wind.

Last time I rode in significant snow was probably 1977. I was on trials tires and in an uncut field. So little control that I didn't feel the need to do it again. I'm a bit surprised to read how well it went for cyclemike4 and CW. Maybe I've been too hesitant.
Stay hesitant because you'll note that neither of us wrote that it was a good time.

I'm just shocked it could be done. I couldn't hold my KE100 up for more than a few feet at a time. I figured it was a near impossibility to attempt on the road. I don't think I'll be testing that theory anytime soon...at least not on purpose.

Absolutley. Not fun. If no cars had been out there it may have been some what enjoyable for just a bit. I usually try to not get caught out in that. The good thing is ever since i was a kid if it snowed the dirt bikes were out in it. Now that is fun and i still do that so i have had at least some experiance with that considering how little it snows here in Ky.

View attachment 98422View attachment 98422View attachment 98423here is a anything. I made this 4 wheeler trailer from scraps i collected over the years. It is the handiest thin i have ever made. Perfect for a small farm like mine. I made this a couple years ago and should have done it 20 years ago!
Nicely done on the trailer.

I think you also deserve kudos for fitting the most number of bikes into a small footprint. Those two on the left...bravo. I'm keep that picture handy for when I tell DM I need more bikes and she thinks there's not enough room to add any more.

Do you believe in fate……. The older I get the more I wonder….

My buddy and I road the COBDR last year and it ends up in Wyoming. Then we turned around and headed home. On the south side of Colorado just before we head east back to Texas there was a beautiful gravel road heading up into the mountains. I told my buddy let’s ride this road up the mountain just a little bit. After 3000 miles and many-many days off road he was not super excited about another dirt road. LOL.
I turned off the road anyway and started riding up the road / mountain a bit. After about two miles I stopped to look and take a picture and go the bathroom. As I got off my bike there was a super fresh pine cone at my feet. I’ve never seen this before but it was at the tip of my toes. No other pine cones in site (I looked). I did all my stuff and decided to pick up the pine cone.
I came home and learned about it. I fallowed the “rules” and gave it a home-brew- shot in the dark try to grow a beautiful pine tree.
I pulled 81 seeds from the cone and I planted them. (This was a 4-5 month process to this point). The internet basically tells you it’s fun to mess and “try”, but evidently the average person can’t get them to grow. So I’ve read. Out of 81 seeds I have 43 trees that have popped up and growing. Growing GREAT !
After more homework I believe I have Ponderosa Pine. They can grow up to 250 feet tall and are known to have trunks 27’ in diameter. They are said to grow fast. So far these little suckers are growing fast.

I guess now I have 43 little “kids”…… LOL
