I’m disappointed that the scientists seem unable provide evidence to explain much about CV 19. For example:
Why has Africa had so few cases and deaths?
How have we eliminated the flu?
Why are children and young people immune?
Why were there so few cases and deaths in summer last year when restrictions were lifted?
How did China suppress the disease so well when it has 1.4bn people many of whom live close together in huge cities?
Why is most of Western Europe experiencing a 3rd wave, having apparently done so well last year?
Have lockdowns saved any lives?
Have we seen the normal pattern of any virus going through a population, or have we simply interrupted and prolonged its path by the horrendously expensive and intrusive actions we have taken?
Why are masks required in supermarkets but not in gyms or restaurants? (UK specific)
Why are there such huge differences between similar countries’ infection and death rates?
How do different countries measure CV19 deaths?
If CV19 is so dangerous, why are masks not treated as clinical waste?
If CV is so deadly, why was it ok for those workers who keep life going to continue working, and only those who don’t do anything useful had the year off?
WHO recommend 1 metre social distancing. What have been the benefits of 2 metres (UK) and 6ft (USA) compared with other nations who chose to go with the WHO guidelines?
There is an apparent link between a tiny number of blood clots and vaccines, but is it a causal link? What are the characteristics of those who have had blood clots?
There has been considerable work done modelling the expected deaths from CV19, but what backtesting has been carried out and what has been learned?
What modelling has been done on expected deaths as a result of people not being treated for other conditions because our entire focus has been on CV19?
Anyway, back to the vaccine, in the western world we ought to be incredibly grateful that we have covid vaccines available for all and should take advantage of them. Where I used to live many people prefer herbal tea and cough drops to ward off covid (and only a limited number of mistrusted donated Chinese vaccines are available). But then living in Zimbabwe gives you a very particular perspective on every issue, from pandemics to politics, law and order, human rights, freedom of speech, etc. (although I won’t mention r***sm in any context because I know that my experience would lead me to express opinions about how society is changing, which are unpalatable and taboo here!).
