Masks do nothing more than make anyone that wears one look like a dumbwit. Been proven pretty well by states that have/love them thanks to lies vs states that think they do zero and people have common sense. Here in Colorado masks are on everyone, in missiouri, basically same population, no idiot masks ever, yet they are like 1/10 the cases we have with the same amount of population.
You have got to get off Facebook and find a reliable source for information.

Going for round 2 of Moderna in another hour or so. It sure is going to be nice. I'm so looking forward to getting out some more. Of course I will be wearing a mask and taking precautions. But at least all my family members are vaccinated and we can enjoy a little more freedom.

I'm still another year or so out from working or riding motorcycles. For anyone with physical limitations I highly recommend to just keep moving when you can. I struggle with my weight but refusing to just set around. Taking care of an Alzheimers patient and my wife is what keeps me motivated.

The miles of riding my bike on the rollers and doing home Physical Therapy has served me well during this hard time. I have a nice routine that keeps me sane. When you have a constant pain level of 6-8 you need it. The way I do it is 15 to 30 minutes of moving and PT then I'm wiped out and resting. I just repeat as much as I can.

No matter what anyones opinion might be on taking the vaccine this COVID shit is real and is not going away anytime soon. I made my choice to do what I think is right during the pandemic. My decisions are based on what I see around me.

I’m disappointed that the scientists seem unable provide evidence to explain much about CV 19. For example:

Why has Africa had so few cases and deaths?

How have we eliminated the flu?

Why are children and young people immune?

Why were there so few cases and deaths in summer last year when restrictions were lifted?

How did China suppress the disease so well when it has 1.4bn people many of whom live close together in huge cities?

Why is most of Western Europe experiencing a 3rd wave, having apparently done so well last year?

Have lockdowns saved any lives?

Have we seen the normal pattern of any virus going through a population, or have we simply interrupted and prolonged its path by the horrendously expensive and intrusive actions we have taken?

Why are masks required in supermarkets but not in gyms or restaurants? (UK specific)

Why are there such huge differences between similar countries’ infection and death rates?

How do different countries measure CV19 deaths?

If CV19 is so dangerous, why are masks not treated as clinical waste?

If CV is so deadly, why was it ok for those workers who keep life going to continue working, and only those who don’t do anything useful had the year off?

WHO recommend 1 metre social distancing. What have been the benefits of 2 metres (UK) and 6ft (USA) compared with other nations who chose to go with the WHO guidelines?

There is an apparent link between a tiny number of blood clots and vaccines, but is it a causal link? What are the characteristics of those who have had blood clots?

There has been considerable work done modelling the expected deaths from CV19, but what backtesting has been carried out and what has been learned?

What modelling has been done on expected deaths as a result of people not being treated for other conditions because our entire focus has been on CV19?

Anyway, back to the vaccine, in the western world we ought to be incredibly grateful that we have covid vaccines available for all and should take advantage of them. Where I used to live many people prefer herbal tea and cough drops to ward off covid (and only a limited number of mistrusted donated Chinese vaccines are available). But then living in Zimbabwe gives you a very particular perspective on every issue, from pandemics to politics, law and order, human rights, freedom of speech, etc. (although I won’t mention r***sm in any context because I know that my experience would lead me to express opinions about how society is changing, which are unpalatable and taboo here!).

"Pick, and choose", "grain of salt", "kernel of truth", etc. Some is valid. . . . some not as much.

This pandemic will be researched for many years going forward. I'm sure we'll discover many things that were done wrong or needlessly and many that were correct. It's a bit like drinking from a fire hose to work out, interpret and understand all the data and questions as fast as it's being collected in real time. Many of Pooh's questions aren't scientific ones but rather societal and cultural ones. For example would the citizens of any of the democratic countries accept the draconian level of lock downs applied in China? Our government (in the US at least) does not have that level of authority. Are low case counts in Africa (assuming that's a true statement) actually due to low incidence or is it due to poor monitoring, reporting and record keeping capability? I believe some countries purposely downplay numbers so as to improve their image in the world.
With respect to us of the term "follow the science", science is not a book of answers with scientists all smug keepers of the truth. Rather science is a process, we follow the scientific method as means to collect, analyze interpret and understand the data. It's the data that holds the truths. Sometimes initial interpretations don't hold up in the end and the data must be reinterpreted. The scientific method is not necessarily a neat and tidy process, but often a result of what still stands after chasing down all the dead ends.

That should keep them busy for the next 30 years
