In my Super Tenere experience, rear pads definitely wear quicker than fronts. I had one pad on one front caliper wear faster than the other three. Note, I thoroughly clean and bleed my calipers every winter.
Just my preference - I didn’t think the OEM pads were up to the job I expected from them, so swapped them out early, for HH EBC pads. I’m now on my second set and am happy with the improved braking performance. Fronts have been on HH for about 15k miles and I cannot detect any noticeable disc wear.
Rear disc - I took the EBC HH out early and went back to OEM, as the disc was suffering.
All my riding is on tarmac and I do quite a lot of my riding on tour, in the hills and mountains, usually with others and therefore heavy on the brakes.
