Thanks the power sports place is closedI see on the internet that Mammoth Powersports is right there in Mammoth Lakes. I imagine they could help remove the remains of the destroyed bearing. They may even have replacements.
I'm guessing you already looked that up. When you're asking for a bearing substitute, what do you actually mean? If there was a supplier nearby that carried things like SKF bearings, you could take the old bearings (or at least take the wheel and axle for them to measure) and they could probably find a non OEM substitute, but I'm pretty sure there isn't that kind of store in Mammoth Lakes or anywhere near it. Either Mammoth Powersports would have one (and they would know the correct sizes), or you're going to have to buy the correct size on line and either install it yourself, or take it to the shop and have them do it. Ordering them yourself will probably be faster than letting the motorcycle shop order them; for me, that always takes at least a week. Without being 100 percent sure of the correct size from a non-OEM supplier, I'd probably opt for getting the OEM bearings on line and either putting them in myself if I had the right tools, or taking the wheel to the Yamaha shop and see if they'll install parts you didn't buy there.
