Yamaha Oil Filters

Does anyone have any Yamaha oil filters they would like to part with? (5GH-13440-50 or 5GH-13440-20)

are they in short supply? I walked into my local shop and picked up one with no problems. Need one shipped, may not be a super cheap price but I'll send it to you for what I can buy it for

Thanks for the suggestion. The only local dealer I trust is a hike, so I was trying to find some bulk deals online. However, shipping seems to kill most deals. Just curious, what does your dealer charge for oil filters?

They are not in short supply that I know of. Do you mind me asking how much you paid for the oil filter? Thanks for the offer, but trying to go cheap. I used SuperTech (Wally Word) oil filters for years on my other bike and just got spoiled with the low price. The only reason oem filters are being consider is due to the YES warranty.

My dealer charged me 10$, which is pretty steep IMHO but not worth bitching over too much. I mean figuring I expect to pay $4-5 a filter we are talking an extra ten bucks a year.

I don't go cheap on oil either, but I do look for bargains. Cycle gear had Castrol 15-40'on sail for 18$ a gallon and snagged that. Cheaper then rotella.

My only suggestion is to get a prime membership on amazon and get it from them. At least that way shipping is free.

Personally, I use the Bosch 3300 filter........available at the AutoZone down the street from me.

Perspective is a funny thing. I did 8 oil/filter changes in the last 12 months. And remember, depending on the skid plate you have, (or don't), filter length is an issue. At least a few skid plates restrict you to oem length, which has gotten harder since many of the auto filters changed and standardized to the 3" filter instead of the 2.5" filter. My dealer sells the filters for $11.25 each. I bought a case when I first got the S10 at about half that price, per filter. Can't find those deals today.

If it helps, the owners manual states the oil filter is changed every second oil change. I don't mind paying for oem filters at that rate.
Most people replace them at every oil change though.

Filter was $12.99 with socal markup for high rent costs etc. But I only change the oil 3-4 times a year and it doesn't kill me to pay a few more. Plus if the shop closed where would I go to kill time when it rains?

I guess that depends on where you buy your Rotella , I pay between $12 to $14 per gallon for Rotella T and I recently paid $16 per gallon after rebate for the Rotella T6 synthetic.

I guess that depends on where you buy your Rotella , I pay between $12 to $14 per gallon for Rotella T and I recently paid $16 per gallon after rebate for the Rotella T6 synthetic.

rotella is usually 20$/ gallon at BiMart. Just went there and it was 13.99. Bought 2 gallons for later.

My mileage depends a lot on where I am working. Last year I was doing 790 miles a week. This year it's more like 40. I had to go for a ride just to hit 600 and change the oil.
