No surprise I guess, but that looks a lot like my '86 XL600. Great machines.

Mine needs a little TLC for sure, but the engine sounds great.

The seat foam is pretty good still, but the cover may need to be replaced. I have purchased a new cover before fairly inexpensively. What's going to take a little getting used to is kicking over a 600cc. instead of pushing a button.

Very nice!!
I have and 86 XT600-true survivor - 11,000 orginal miles, kept inside and looks great/perfect condition. I love it, fun bike to take out and bust wheelies all over town! lol. I bought a new XT 350 back in 86 and was really wanting the 600 but could afford it at the time.. Good buddy found me the 600 last year and it made the trip from Ohio to Southen California to my garage. :)

Only non stock thing on mine is the SuperTrap exhaust, I've been searching for a clean OEM one or awhile. Just want her to be 100% stock.

Great bikes-

Nice, Mine also has the super trapp exhaust - Pop's a little when cold, but sounds pretty good when it's warmed up.

Very cool! I had a 78 XT500 that I stripped parts off and rode on dirt trails in Colorado, back in the day. Heavy bugger and I sold it after it broke 4 of my ribs on a jump turned bad... ha ha. Great fun.

Dear Yamaha, please bring the XT660R & XT660X to the USA.
They made it happen for all us Super T junkies, now it's time for the 660!

PS: Nice bike Koinz,...bought off an inmate?

Ya, over at ADV. I wouldn't mind a 660 though.

If you're looking for parts/performance goodies, I think Mark over at Thumper Stuff covers some stuff for these bikes. He primarily deals with the 500s, but a lot of goodies from the SRX600 fit.
Such as getting rid of those TK carbs. When they work, they're fine, but when they don't, toss them.

Congrats on the bike. That was the first brand new bike I ever purchased. It was also the first time I ever bought two bikes. My wife rolled out of the showroom with her brand new XT350 that same day. Funny how some things never change.

Really enjoyed my 600. Just beware of the kickback you can get when trying to start it. It can be quite a jolt.

Enjoy, fun bike. ::012::

Man I miss my '84 XT 600, I have tried almost every year to buy it back from my buddy but he wont budge, even though he rarely rides it!
