Doing new tires and not sure if this belongs, the part was laying near rear of bike but don't know where it goes or if it does. Also doing something wrong when tightening nut, before I reach correct torque the wheel no longer will spin unless I loosen nut. Easy to tell it's my first tire change. Appreciate any help and I will laugh with you at my expense on these silly questions.

Oh, it belongs alright. Do not ride, pass go, or collect $200.
Pull the wheel again. It goes inside the hub cush drive and is a sleeve for the axle. The absence of this is causing your wheel to not rotate when torqued.

Don't see 37 but 5 I think is it. Wider part to the outside of the wheel I suspect? Sound correct?

How in the world did you make that pop out? I've been doing tires on, and swapping out, Yamaha differentials for almost twenty years now and never had a piece fall out of the differential. I'm going to look at the Royal's fiche now...
Ah, that collar is much deeper in the Royal's rear end, 'splains that.

I did my wheels the other day and the spacer falls out when you remove the wheel.

I've done five rear tires on this, I guess I've been lucky, I don't even have problems with the cush drive coming apart.

I'll be damned. It was mentioned elsewhere, and I tried it this last time; slip the axle through the housing from the left to help support and guide the hub into the final drive... it's a wonder more of those spacers don't show themselves.
