...I had an old Staintune muffler laying around and thought I'd fabricate it on to my Supa10.

i did and now notice that it is direct line with my left rear turn signal.

How did y'all fix the dreaded melting of the plastic housing??

I wanna wrap it in true aluminum (*no, not reynolds wrap*)

That would reflect any and all heat - but might look funky.

I didn't wanna change the signals but will if that's the only way out

C'mon - help a brutha out..!!

I just wrote a guy about this the other day.. Find some aircraft heat reflective material and stick it to the back of the turn signal.. That's it.. I did this to my stock turn signal for several thousand miles and was great.. Ill go look for that post and re post it here...

Here it is :
Just FYI :) if you find that the turn signal is getting to hot you can add a bit of heat reflective material. The best is from the aircraft industry that I have found. After doing the same thing you did with your muffler I found at the time the exhaust was blasting my turn signal. I added a small piece of reflective material to the bottom of the signal and never had any issues. Road that for several thousand miles. I got my heat reflective material from a mechanic for a major air line.
