Washed up the machine today from the last few off road rides. Many miles of dust, and another day of tacky mud. ::26:: I noticed the lower inlet to the radiator had some "off road goo" up in there. I grabbed a flash light and looked, noticed that rocks had gotten up in there and started denting the little radiator veins.. That's not cool.... I mocked up a little guard and then cut it out... This should keep the crap out of there now.. If you ride off road you might want to keep an eye on the inside of the radiator and debris hitting it from that direction... Just FYI.... By the way... I have never been "roosted" by another bike while on the ST.. The debris came from the front wheel / tire I guess....

How did you secure the guard?

I have use aluminum 'gutter guard' from Home Depot to make these for my other vehicles, when required.

Market it as a kit. Put me down for one.

You mean like this? Actually I prefer their paintbrush cleaning rack... I'm sure Jaxon's is somewhat classier!

Nope, to much chance of rocks, dirt & mud getting caught up in it....

That is a very good idea. I have thought about doing something there also, it needs some help. I have found all sorts of trash in there.

I thought about doing something like this as well. Did you Tool Dip the edges, so as not to scratch the cowling, or is it not necessary?
