My first experience with mountain riding was in the Hawks Nest area in 1978 and I have been back many times since. I try to get back over to WestbygodVirginia a least a couple of times each year. Might even get over there this weekend.
I would like to come for the bridge jump day in the fall buy so far have not been able to.

Folks who visit and don't go down thru the gorge just don't know what they are missing. I was leading a couple from GA on their first trip.

On Bridge Day, I usually leave town!

Just rode through the area a week and a half ago - 60, 16, overnight in Beckley, then 16 on to Marion. Then spent several days playing around Johnson City etc. Love that part of the country.

Mobyfubar, you were in my backyard. I drive the Midland Trail to work each day.

Did you ride the Triumph or the Honda? 16 would be an absolute hoot on a Street Triple!

Yep, you have ridden those reaches and more. I look forward to riding some off road along with ya Jax. I've been mentally storing tons of mixed adventure routes as I ride them on my Versys as well as figuring how to make them more adventurous. Keeping tires will definitely be an issue on my Tenere!

I have just a simple Flip Cam and use the lowly but functional Windows Movie Maker that's already on the computer. One of my long range farkles for the S10 is a good camera and a good editing software. In the mean time, I'm learning.

We were two-up on the Honda. The Street Triple would definitely have been fun there, but it's not the ideal week-long two-up vehicle...

U.S. 250 in between Elkins, WV and Staunton, VA is one of my all time favorites, It runs through the heart of Monongahela State Forest.

250 is a great road but most roads up that way (with a few notable exceptions) though very scenic pale in comparison to the technical nature of the riding to be found on southern WV roads...head south young man!
