Hi guys,

I'm working on a project comparing off-road bike engines and was wondering if you could help me. I'm trying to find out the valve lift and duration for the Super Tenere and understand that this information is likely to be available in the service manual?

Do any of you have a copy and be able to look this up for me? I'd really appreciate the help.

Beautiful bike by the way. I'm thinking I might like to buy a big tourer and I think the Tenere is much more appealing than some of the others out there (1200GS etc).

Thanks in advance for your help,

Phil.

Sorry, not listed in the service manual. Only lobe wear limits are shown and runout limits for the cam.

Intake Lobe diameter is 40.250-40.350mm Intake lobe base circle is 29.976-30.076mm so ~ 10.274mm intake lift
Exhaust Lobe diameter is 39.250-40.350mm Intake lobe base circle is 29.950-30.050mm so ~ 9.3mm exhaust lift

Taken from the workshop manual (lift figures are my calcs)
PS the base circle figure is given as 90degrees to the lobe so may also include some lift dependant on cam duration but the figures get you in the ball park.
