Thank you for asking this question @ZigZag. I tried earplugs with our Amazon special com unit and it was a no go, but that was on my SV1000S where wind noise was atrocious. This reminds me I need to try it again on the ST

Thanks for all the responses. I’m still giving this one thought. I think I’ll need a new helmet that is made specifically for comms. My AGV has small speaker pockets.

It's not uncommon to use an exacto or other sharp instrument to cut the pockets larger. I've cut quite a bit of foam out on some helmets to fit the speakers better/deeper w/o issues. Just take your time. It may take a few attempts to fit the way you need them too.

Foam plugs with a Sena 5s and their upgraded speakers work fine for music. I don't use it for calls or comms.

As a bass player, helmet speakers are pretty unimpressive to begin with. When moving they're even less so. Even without ear plugs. So for me the quality of music is already compromised. I can hear things ok enough with earplugs that I can enjoy it while riding. I find it helps to keep me focused. Something about keeping a part of my brain occupied so I don't distracted.

I've got custom in-ear monitors for performing. I wish they were comfortable when worn inside the helmet. That would be the way to go...
