DO NOT DO BUISNESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! They have had the same problem for 20 years based on comments on ADVRider and other forums

Wished I had read the reviews before I called a sales person to VERIFY over the phone that all items were physically in stock before I placed my order. I placed my order....got an email that says "Your entire order has been shipped"....well... it wasn't... so I call... the sales person could give a F$%%^ less about my order, the 2 items that did not show up or the 4-6 weeks I'll have to wait on getting them.

It seems they do this to everyone from what I've read (say its in stock, take you money send the item 3 months later).... they will never get another penny from me. Now I have really nice aluminum paper weights siting on my garage floor because I dont have the bracket to mount them..

I've never bought anything from these guys (their stuff always seemed very expensive) and I never heard about their reputation, but I started reading up about them on line after your post and I've seen all the various issues they've been having at least since the pandemic. Multiple complaints I've read sound a lot like yours; items claimed to be in stock but weren't, items claimed to have been shipped when they weren't, etc. It sounds a lot like Bike Bandit before they went belly up a couple years ago.

It's stuff like this that makes me really hesitant to deal with any retailers that I don't have a long history with, like Rocky Mountain ATV. I'm especially hesitant when they don't have any sort of physical location and have a web-only based business. I'm sorry to hear about your experience, but at least others can learn from it.

I won't tolerate crappy customer service; if you take my money, then you've entered into an agreement. If you say something's in stock and it isn't, or it's shipped and it hasn't, you can dress that up with any business doubletalk that you want about inventory, or pandemics, or supply lines, but essentially you've lied to me. You took my money with the full knowledge that you couldn't fulfill my order; that's the exact thing that Bike Bandit did to its customers for at least a year, til they were forced into receivership. If this is the way that Twisted Throttle is operating, then they deserve to go under, the sooner the better.

The simple fact is that: When someone takes your money for an item that they’re claiming is in stock but not, it is fraud.
If you know where they’re based, that may be a method of complaint to the local authorities.

I was a criminal investigator for many years, and fraud/theft by deception can be one of the hardest crimes to prove when it comes to businesses. The difficulty lies in the fact that, in order for fraud to be established, you have to be able to prove criminal intent. In effect, you have to prove that the business took your money when they had absolutely no intention of providing you with what you paid for. That's very difficult to do; even when the business ultimately fails to provide what you purchased, the burden of proof still is on the prosecutor to show that the business deliberately took your money knowing that they weren't going to fulfill their end of the agreement. It's why most business disputes end up going to civil court, rather than criminal. I dealt with a lot of this sort of thing when I would investigate shady business contractors whose primary business model was "take the money and run". They'd take an upfront payment, work for one day, and then disappear, because they'd used that money to pay off their creditors from previous jobs that they'd also stiffed customers on. They were scumbags, but proving they took money and had no intention of following through with the transaction was still an uphill battle.

I have had very different experiences with Twisted Throttle.
My first order was in May 2017.
My last in July 2020.
Altogether, I've ordered from them 8 times for a cumulative total of $1076.38.
I never had anything but great service from them.

Doing some research, I see they "joined with Vision X group" in 2020.
They also closed their walk-in store in 2020.

I haven't dealt with them lately, but I'll take the above posts as a warning should I think to do so again.

Twisted Throttle had a shop here in Canada for a number of years. I ordered numerous items for my beloved KLR. As time went on the stocking issues began to show it's ugly head. It became harder for them to fulfill the orders. Here in Canada we have a number of reputable online suppliers. Some with brick and mortars and some strictly online. Most notably FortNine. As a bonus we have our beloved Canadian moto ambassador Ryan F9. I have been fortunate to not been affected by any stocking issues as the shops I deal with are very upfront about stock concerns including delays in shipping. It's so unfortunate that you have had to experience this. I wish you luck in your search for more reputable access to hard to get items. Be safe out there. Cheers
