Riding along after a light rain I noticed that the R/S signal was on! I kept trying to cancel but it wouldn't stop. After some time they started to work normally.
The other day I washed the bike and after sitting for about 10 minutes the R/S signal was on as before! Has anyone had this happen to them? & How to fix it?
2015 base Tenere, 5k miles. No accessaries added.

Sounds like water is getting into something and making a connection. May be your TS switch or wires exposed getting wet.
Did you spray your handlebars, hand guards or anything up top?

Yes I agree, water is getting in to the electrical contacts. I am going to mist the L/S of the bar to see if I can duplicate the problem. If this is a unique problem, I would think that it would be covered under YES. I can't believe this UNSAFE condition would be normal but others may have had the same problem.

I'm betting TS switch , it is exposed to the elements.... try covering the switch with a plastic bag then spray water see what happens... then you will know....

Thank's for the reply. I will try covering the switch to verify the problem.

Two screws to remove the switch cluster. Shoot it with contact cleaner. Done in less time than taking to the dealer.

That works but if it's caused by water getting into it this will not fix it from getting in again.
My cheap LED switch does this after a few thousand miles and i just hit it with a shot of cleaner and then electrical contact lube.
Maybe a little dielectric grease while you have it open and inspect for traces of a leak, traces that show some sort of connection within the switch.
But lets see if it's the switch first.. :-\
I agree isolate the switch with a plastic bag first then spay down the bike, take it for a spin.
If that's not it give it another blast with the bag off and see if that is the culprit.

Thank's for the input. This is my project this weekend. 1- Cover L/S of the bar & wash the bike to see what happens. 2- Mist the L/S bar. 3- Open switch & evaluate. 4- Post the results!

Well, after soaking my darlin both Saturday & Sunday, I have not been able to duplicate the problem! This anomaly must must be one of those things like, UFO's!
I don't think I was hallucinating but I was on medication at the time.LOL If this does happen again,I will disassemble the T/S switch for evaluation and post the results.
