I'm planning on a a 4 day tour of Rhode Island and Block Island. I'm in the early stages of planning this trip but I am planning on camping at Burlingame State Park checking in Thursday May 16th and leaving Sunday the 19th or Monday May 20th. Saturday will be spent at least partially at Twisted Throttles open house. The other days will be spent touring Block Island, Newport RI and possibly Mystic CT area. If your interested or have any suggestions or better place to camp please post here.

pachaug state forest in CT contains very nice enduro trails with lots of mud and big rocks if you into that. it's off 395 in terms of main interstate ::001::

I'm planning on doing couple of test runs before Colorado trip and would be glad to join you at TT open house. This would be great opportunity to see if I am ready for 3 week trip.

I'm down as well. We could ride to orient point and take the ferry to CT ::001::

I need to be camping. I'm going to be checking rechecking and checking again all of my camping gear.
I agree, for budget concerns if nothing else. I few facilities would be nice...showers and bathrooms. I not into roadside camping.

I am thinking to ship all my cars and bike to Denver, Colorado. I feel hills of Colorado are the best place of camping. So, made my mind to get shifted there. ::025::

Anyone know what the Temps are like in RI mid May?? Particularly at night? My camping gear isn't really setup for cold nights. May look into a cheap motel....

Howdy,
May should be fine for camping in RI. I've often camped in Ct. and RI that time of year. A 3 season bag should keep you warm sleeping and a nice fire at night should do the rest. Don't forget the hot dogs!!! ;D
Later,
Norm

Thanks, I grew up in Southern CT but living in West Central NH the weather is a lot different. May can go either way up here....really nice at night or down right cold. I really need to get a better sleeping bag....
