I am planning a trip on the S10 from California to Illinois, a little later on this year. I will be trying to camp (have to save money, orders from the boss) throughout the trip. Anyone know of a book/website that will show camping sites along the way that are somewhat friendly to riders. any info will be appreciated.

State Parks are always a safe bet.
Although, you may have a hard time getting a site at the more popular parks.
Google is your friend..........search, "Camping near xyz city, State".
Start your search no later than 4 or 5 p.m. to give yourself time to find a spot, set up camp, locate food, and lastly SCORE SOME BEERS!
Have fun!

A GPS will make your travelers easier and show where lodging is located, hotels, motels, campgrounds, ect.... same for gas stations, restaurants, etc... Talk with the boss about a GPS. I'm very happy with my Garmin 350 LM.

You'll likely get more direct responses to your question if the mod will move this thread to the CAMPING topic.

Done!

I have a couple of Apps to help with finding campgrounds, the most popular one seems to be Allstars Camp & RV app.

Thanks for the info. I have a garmin Zumo 550 mounted. It's never been great at finding campgrounds. Be Safe! ::021::

I don't know if it's on iPhone, but a good android app is Allstays Camp and RV. The primary database is offlline which is very useful when you have no network and no idea where you can camp.

Yes they have it for iPhone too...they also make one specifically to find Walmart parking lots (mostly for the RV crowd, obviously).

Don't let the $9.99 price tag scare you. Allstays Camp & Rv is a slick app.
