Traveling to Cullman Alabama in the morning to pickup my new S10 at D&H Cycle. About 300 miles from S.E. Arkansas. What are the recommended tie down locations for hauling the S10? Planning to put the bike in the back of a pickup and use soft straps around the hand grips to tie the front down to the front bed tie eyes. Fabbed a plywood and 2X4 wheel trough to keep the front wheel from turning. Also plan to secure the back of the bike to the back bed tie eyes. Is it OK to compress the springs to secure the the bike?

Thanks

I wouldn't tie off on the hand grips (or use a canyon dancer) as bars have been known to twist down and the straps go loose.

Better to go around the lower fork brace pulling in a down and forward direction. It's a good idea to compress the suspension a little just don't get crazy.

I agree. I used soft straps around the lower triple tree. There is also no need for a board through, but it probably wont hurt. You don't need the back tied down much, I usually just loop a strap around the rear tire and go to each side of the bed, snug enough to keep any wild swinging from happening. You don't want to try and draw and quarter the bike, just have steady tension pulling the front wheel against the front of the truck, and enough down force to keep the straps from coming off.

I agree to an extent. While I don't use the bars as a primary tie down in the front (I use the lower triple tree clamp), I still lightly tie off to the bar ends for stability to keep the bike from swaying.

I had George at Pit Bull produce the S10 setup. Actually took my bike to their factory back in August to have it measured.

I also use their narrow restraint for my Bking.

My wife has almost saved enough to get me one of those. I'm gonna be soooooooo surprised ... especially after I give her the address, the description, the cost, stuff like that. I'm gonna act so surprised. I'm very thoughtful that way. R ::008:: ::008::
