Touratech Brake Pedal Extender?

Have done a lot of searching for a Touratech Brake Pedal Extender for my S10 as my foot misses the pedal about 20% of the time. Seems not to be made anymore, or out of stock forever (3 month delivery?). Anyone know the scoop on this and where I might find one? I've looked at the Altrider and Motomachines, don't care for the Altrider and looks like Motomachines no longer sells one for he S10. If no Touratech, does anyone have another good option?

Many thanks for any help.

Do you still have any information regarding where you found one on eBay? Have searched exhaustively and can't zero in on one. I do see one for a Tenere 660. Wonder if it would fit, these things can't be rocket surgery?

I spoke to Touratech. They are waiting on a production run in Germany, and indicated it could be a month or longer before that happens.

I may just machine something myself.

Many thanks for your reply!

I bought one from Touratech Germany a year or so ago. I now note that it is no longer on their website.

Correction: Touratech Germany has it on its website - but with a 3 month delivery:

Cant find the one I got from ebay any more. The 660 one looks similar. Heres mine.

Looks similar to the 660. If I can't find a Touratech anytime soon, I may take a chance and order th done for the 660. Their pics don't show enough detail regarding the mounting.

Many thanks for your reply!

Go to Rocky Mountain ATV website and take a look at part number 1393800003. Do a search by this p/n. You will have to grind the rivet off of the stock pedal and attach the new pedal with a 1/4" bolt and nut. This works very well for me and it only costs $20. I have a size 14 boot.

Just FYI, I emailed them, and they do have them in stock. They are expensive (due to shipping) as you noted. Here's the reply I received:

"Dear Mark,
thanks for your inquiry.

If you are talking about this article: http://www.off-the-road.de/XT-1200Z/Verschleissteile/Bremse-Zubehoer/Bremshebel-Verbreiterung-XT-1200Z.html?listtype=search&searchparam=Verbreiterung
We have it on stock right now.

You can see the shipping costs here:
http://www.off-the-road.de/en/Shipping-Information/

For USA it is 27,90€

If you have further questions, please let me know.

with best regards,
Jens Heming"

Magic - many thanks again! Received the new brake pedal, drilled out the old, bolted in the new and it's perfect.

By my measurements, it sticks out about another half inch which helps my foot hit it without feeling like I'm having to twist my foot under the engine, but also while not putting it under my foot when I'm simply riding.

It's is also about 5/8" longer front to back, so overall a larger pedal with more contact space.

The mounting hole puts it about 3/4" more forward toward the front of the bike, which is also good.

Finally, the top of the main pedal is even with the top of the old pedal, however, the small bolt in spikes make the overall height about 1/4" higher than the stock pedal.

Best of all, it was $20 shipped!

I just tried it on road and off. My foot hits it reliably sitting without having to hunt for it. Height also seems good. I tried it offroad both standing and sitting and it feels good under foot.

I like it!

Hey markbxr400,
I'm glad it worked out for you. Another thing I did is to remove those spiked bolts and replaced them with stainless steel button head screws. This gets the height down a bit and your boots won't catch on them. If you decide to use button heads, make sure they are short enough to not defeat the spring loaded pedal. You'll see what I mean when you remove them. I was able to find those button heads at my favorite hardware store and they are metric. For $20 this is a farkle bargain!

Great idea on the button screws. I'll pick some up. Thanks again!
