Good day to all..I have been lurking around the forum trying to get as knowledgeable as possible before my big purchase, and have a question ref Usable wattage.
I have seen from previous posts that..."Alternator puts out 600 watts (42.3 amps x 14.2 volts)." as stated by a forum member. My question is in the stock configuration ( no farkles) what is the breakdown of wattage...and what is left over. If this was mentioned earlier..my apologies

Best regards ;D

I'll make a very rough guess that the OEM equipment power consumption is around 250W when you take the twin 55w headlamp, EFI, and ABS into account. This is just a SWAG so don't put any stock in it.

I checked one of my old bikes with a voltmeter, ammeter and row of old sealed beam lights. Used the current reading function of the multimeter to see how much current one light would draw, then switch to volts and started adding lights accross the battery terminals in parellel until charge couldn't be maintained, at which time I noted what the load was in the step before that and could calculate the answer. I used my heated grips as intermediate load.

Anway, without going out to the bike and actualling checking it under a load, most of this is just guessing, although I'm sure there's a rule of thumb for bikes similarly equipped.

Thanks very much for the info... one last question......any guess on how many amps would currently be used in the stock configeration...the reason I am asking is curious about the Fz-1 Fuse block..which is limited to 30-amps... so was curious how much there was left for Amperage to pl;ay with...
Thanks again
best regards
Dan..
