Throttle return to idle possible issue.

Not sure if because I have been on the bmw a bunch but took the s10 out today. As I went down the driveway, I let off the throttle and lightly made sure it was closed by nature.
The engine seemed to stick at high idle. After going only around the block it seemed to continue this. Felt like a bindy cable or sticky throttle.
I know there are throttle cables and they seem smooth plus nothing has changed recently.

Any ideas would be helpful. I was asking before I go into surgery for no reason.

Was the bike fully warmed up? If not it could have been idling high due to that?

I never noticed a high idle before but i think evertime up until now I have let it warm for about 2 or 3 minutes while I gear up.

I had that problem too it was the rubber part of the heat grip that was jamming I had to replace the grip. My bike is the ES with the OME grips
