Throttle cable routing

I have only seen one other Tenere and really didn't pay attention to the cable routing on it. The throttle cables on my bike are inline with the instrument panel when I'm riding, can move them but they always return as I ride. If you have the same issue and fixed the problem please share the fix.

Mine just block my trip/ temp buttons but I sit taller no doubt. Almost like they tried to design it in the way. My fix so far is to ignore it.

I turned the throttle housing upside down. Requires you to drill one hole in the handle bar.

I rotated my handlebars down slightly for better comfort and this problem went away when I did. ::012::

I just added a long zip tie around the handle bar and around the cables to pull them out of line of sight of the instrument panel.

The throttle housing (that the twist grip is attached to) has a locating tab on it. This tab goes into a small hole in the handlebar. This is supposed to hold the throttle housing in place (seems like a 'solution' to a problem that didn't exist in years past). So if you want to move the housing (or your switch housings) to different locations, either you have to dill new holes in the bars for the tabs to go into, or do like alot of us do and cut the tabs off.

After doing this you can then looses the two screws on the throttle housing and then rotate the housing till the throttle cables are not in your way.

+1
The first day.
Ya gotta wonder if the Yamaha engineers though this was a KLR or something? Dumb butts! KISS -

Not tight, it needs to move a bit. Note that I did the zip tie over a protected part of the cable. Been that way for 10k miles w/o problems or issues.
