A step in the right direction to get the price down...

http://www.autoblog.com/2015/05/21/2015-zero-motorcycles-price-cut/

I will have something like the DS or the dirt bike version someday. But that day is still a bit on down the road which only means that technology will increase performance and range while decreasing price.

There are lotsa naysayers about electric bikes, but I for one am excited.

Range will struggle to increase as the public demands all the electronic gadgets, which of course suck power :)

I love lectric vehicles, always have and would love a zero in my garage. The older I get the less I like loud exhaust AR all.
Relatives have a Honda dealership and a separate generic bike shop. Had an open house this last weekend at the Honda place and had both their Zero's there. Took both of them for a ride and they are strange. First issue when coming to a stop is no clutch and I cannot find neutral on the shifter that is not there! My other issue is that I did not realize how my speed sense derived from sound or maybe vibration. With neither I had no sense of how fast I was going. Both had a lot of torque.

Their shop is close to a 4 lane divided highway and I was able to get on that and hit 98 MPH before a hill and that started me slowing down. Got legal and then off at the next exit so I am not sure what it will do for a long way. I only rode maybe 20 miles on the second ride and less on the off-road version so I have no idea of range.

Now I sort of wish I had an electric car. My employer installed electric car chargers in the parking ramp at work (in my 2 favorite stalls!) and I think they are free for employee's. Currently I see a Volt and a Nissan plugged in. Still I prefer to ride!
