TCS and speedometer not working

Most times on startup, the speedometer reads zero while riding, and the tcs and engine light are on. Occasionally the pedometer works, and did does the traction control, but they eventually cut out, and I have to stop and shut off the tcs to keep riding. The bike rides and runs great as long as I turn tcs off (I use a GPS speedometer on my phone).

Dealer has replaced ecu, rear speed sensor, hydraulic unit assembly (abs ecu), and the battery. Any idea what to look at next? Is there a pick-up in the rear wheel itself? There's no play in the wheel bearings that I can feel. I may be imagining, but it seems like sometimes wiggling the speed sensor wire before startup makes it work, but not always, so maybe its random.

Look for a break or cut in the sensor wire to the ABS ring, the front sometimes gets routed incorrectly and then rubs on the tyre. Yes there is also a rear sensor.

No visible cuts or nicks. Regarding the rear sensor, I'm asking if there could be something wrong inside the wheel hub itself.

There's a tone ring in the rear hub. If that's damaged or contaminated with metallic debris that could cause an issue. As mentioned above, make sure to inspect the front wheel sensor and tone ring too. Proper function of the TCS system depends on signals from both wheels. Not sure if the same is true for the speedometer or not. Is the ABS warning light on?

Try taking the pieces apart, cleaning them, and re-assembling. This includes the mechanical rings and re-seating the electrical connectors. (Good idea to re-assemble with dielectric grease.)

The 2012s are old enough for corrosion to develop and it's also a way to really see the condition of each piece.

Do you have a Speed-O-Healer or gear indicator installed?

This could be the VSS wire, which is cut for the gear indicator install.

Check battery terminal connections and also the starter relay connections. Looseness can under volt sensors. But speed sensor bad wire seems more at fault.
