I looked at the Tail Gunner on Ebay a few months back.
They had one with the lid painted blue to match the ST.
I was looking for a top bag I could secure my helmet in and this one is too shallow.
While I like the looks, I felt it was a bit pricey. It was $300 for the bag and $125 for the mounting plate.
They offer a primed lid so you can paint it yourself.

I would rather go stock or get a coo case for that kind of bucks.
Good Luck

Check out the SHAD topcase with special mounting plate for ST. I spent way less for Shad 40 plus mounting plate - solid setup! Will post photo this weekend - not sure how to download from phone.

Nice pictures, thanks. Looks nice and big which I initially did not want a big "honker" but I would just remove it not needed and have more space than less when needed...

Tell us about the mount. Ease of install and don/doff as well as security. Where did you purchase it?

If I get a top case I will go with something like the Holan Topgun case (20 Liters)or just their normal top case(38 Liters). Get something like the SW-Motech rear rack or the Altrider one. Drill some holes and use some screws with hand release stuff on the inside.

not sure I want one honestly....

Yes, I usually feel the same way Joe. But when I got thru the everglades parks or a longer road trip I don't want to ask my riding partners to store my jacket or water and rely on their med or tire repair kits... So its go big or go bare...

The set up I am going with is side cases plus dryspec bags from TT. it will be like 140 liters of storage which is more than enough for a long trip I think, but I hear ya.

The SHAD top case and mounting plate was purchased from www.rlmotorcycles.com located in south GA. Read that SHAD makes the side cases for BMW and Yamaha so searched them out for top case. Found RL Motorcycles on the web after searching for SHAD retailers in USA. The ST mounting plate is a new item so took a few weeks for delivery from Italy. The Yamaha mounting plate (silver plastic) is removed and replaced with SHAD metal mounting plate that is held in place with existing mounting screws. Then the SHAD universal plate bolts directly to the metal plate for solid fit. Product is priced right and well constructed.
