Street Legal Auxiliary Light Wiring

I have a 2013 Super T and I want to mount a small light bar in the pocket just below the headlights. I live in Pennsylvania and spoke to some inspection stations about this and their ONLY requirement is that it can only be on with the low beam lights. This is typical for PA vehicles and I have had no problem tapping into the low beam circuit until I tried to find the low beam signal wire on my Tenere. If I understand the design, the projector headlights have a shutter and not a High/Low filament. The auxiliary light connections provide power but they don't appear to respond to the High/Low switch. I purchased a service manual and still can seem to identify where I can tap in. I am planning to use a standard automotive type relay and a 3 wire switch clamped on the handlebar. Can anyone help identify the wire that I need to give me a signal when the low beams are on?

If you follow the wires back from the headlight, you will find a blue and a pink. The blue is hot for the bulbs and the pink is hot for the high beam, or in this case the solenoid that moves the shutter. There is also a ground wire.

Hope that helps. There are some pics in those two threads. I searched for 'highbeam trigger pink wire'. But I knew the pink wire was the high beam shutter already. You can wire the relay using the pink as the ground and the blue as the 12V if you don't want to use a switch and only want the aux lights to come on with the low beams, go out with the high beams and always be on when low beams are on.

Since the low beams never turn off, even when selecting high beam, you will need to wire your new light with a normally closed relay. Power the lamp from the low beam through the relay and then use the high beam trigger voltage to open the relay, cutting power to the auxiliary lamp. This kind of relay will have 5 terminals. You connect your power to the aux light using the center instead of the outer terminal.
