Has anyone tried to remove the yellow patch sticker on the sides of headlight fairing? I think it looks kind of tacky. Is the sticker painted underneath a layer of clear coat?

It is a sticker. Stuck straight on to the panel. No lacquer. Would come right off with a bit of encouragement from a hair dryer.

I don't think it's tacky though .... I'd not take it off of mine.

Thanks for the info. I thought a nice BMW roundel would look good on there. ;) ;)
If you want crappy and over priced dealer support and wish to tempt final drive failures...just spend dig deeper and buy the real thing....... ;)

I too like the sticker. Mine will stay on. I may even look for another area to add another one.

The safety stickers will be removed though.

I have to say that there is every chance that I'll 'alter' the graphics to look more like the Worldcrosser. In fact that will be my aim. 8)

Every time I looked at my bike after I bought it that bright yellow sticker would draw my attention instead of the overall bike. So, I removed it and the "roll of film" while I was at it.
I like the clean lines of the bike without the distractions.

Brian, any chance you could post a picture of your bike with stickers removed? I, too, don't care to much for them, and it has been my experience that these kind of graphic add ons tend to show wear over time. If left on and then removed later, they will leave unfaded spots that will be noticeable. If I think that I can remove them cleanly when my bike arrives, I will likely do so.

On the subject of sticker removal, and to answer the question of how the blue/silver bike looks without them...
I have removed the Yamaha track-stripes (and the yellow stickers since these pics) in preparation for design of my new sticker kit for these bikes.
Removal of the yellow sticker in particular makes the bike look a lot different and somehow smaller and removes the focus from the high top/front of the bike.
I should be able to showcase the new sticker kit design in the next week or so. Just waiting on business to get over the holiday break period and get back to work.
The new kit will be quite comprehensive and incorporate clear thick 3M knee pads on both sides of the tank. It will also incorporate the Yamaha name on the tank (within the tank graphics), and the words "XT1200Z TENERE" on the faring.

Removal of the factory stickers is very simple with a bit of patience.
You just need to get the sticker and surface nice and warm, (I used a heat gun - CAREFULLY), and they peal off very easily.
A bit of Eucalyptus oil (or any similar gum remover) will clean the surface up like new.

Greg.

I thought it only fare that I show this here as I have done so on another site in answer to a question just moments ago.

That's all we show at the moment.
The current prototype on the bike looks exactly completely different than this.

Still testing material and fit + waiting to trial the 3M tank protector pads + waiting on screen printers to come back from holidays.

The viewing angle shown is not the most flattering but it looks magnificent from all walk around angles and really accentuates geometry of the tank while seated.
The colors and finer details will remain a mystery until the product is released, BUT, we believe this is how Yamaha should have dressed this bike from the factory.

Greg.

Wasp, will this be available in different colors or just one standard black? I think the black would look good with the white outline like factory. I was just wondering for the Raven Black we are getting here in the states.

Thanks for your work on this.
