Soon to be new Tenere rider

I just ordered a 16 Tenere today and will hopefully take possession of it in a couple of weeks. I am currently riding a 14 Suzuki V Strom 1000. My husband has a 15 Tenere that I have been able to zoom around on/try out. I am new to Adventure Touring, having spent the last 10 years on a Harley Street Glide. Although my new bike will be about 250 lbs lighter than what I'm used to, I have some hesitation about handling the Tenere off pavement. I have ridden back roads, but nothing wild yet. Planning to take an off-road riding course in the spring. I'm wondering if there are any other women riding the Tenere and am interested in their experiences.
