This is a rare piece here in the U.S. Our U.S. distributor for SW-Motech does not stock this rack. They can order one for you if you want to wait... They told me 2 months last summer. They opted to stock the less expensive steel rack for us.

Open the "accessory" tab in the link above to see the insert plates.

Open the "top case adapter hardware" box in the above link for pricing and availability. I would direct you to the Super Tenere rack rather than the Triumph Tiger if they stocked it... ::)

This rack bolts in place of the factory plastic rack and allows a series of insert plates to be attached (with 3, quarter turn fasteners) that are model specific for a ton of different top boxes. Givi, Hepco, Shad, Trax and more including the popular Pelican cases are supported. This is particularly useful if you have more than one top box. The insert installs in seconds, the the box attaches to the insert using the box of choice's factory mounting points. Hard to explain but, really easy to use.

I got this one used from Canada last summer and it is a black one. I have 3 different brands of boxes and was planning on using the Happy Trail top box with the Pelican mounts to match my panniers. The Pelican set up will fit almost any flat bottom case and to me it was way more versatile.

To me, the main upside is a flat rack with no mounting hardware sticking up from the rack (like the steel rack, Altrider, Etc...) and with the insert plates, I could mount whichever case I wanted to.

It comes with all the hardware and instructions. It also comes with a Givi Monokey insert plate and that means the current Givi Trekker boxes will fit.

$150.00 shipped to the lower 48.

There are two flaws that I pointed out in the pictures. 1st, a bolt got loose in the box on the way down from Canada and scratched it, it's minor but noticeable and 2nd, the 1/4 turn screws are worn but plenty useable.

The top box in the pictures is not included.

Thanks!

Have you tried mounting it without the spacers? I have removed my pillion seat, and would be looking to keep it at the same level as the under-seat rack.

I haven't tried that and I don't think it will work like that without a major redo. I think the lower brace in the 2nd picture would have to be remade to get the platform low enough. Also, if the rear spacers are removed, that brace would require the plastic to be hacked up to get it to sit on the frame.

Somebody may know better about this but, as I see it, this rack doesn't look like a good candidate for what you want to do.

This is a great piece of kit. I have used it in the SuperT, the R1150gs and the VStrom. It works great and has allowed me to transplant my Gobi top case from one bike to the next. Obviously different alu racks on different. Bikes. Rather silly that they decided to stop making it for the st here
