Hello,

in the ZE(ES) version, in HARD position +3 is harder and -3 is softer.

But in SOFT, which one is softer: +3 or -3 ?

Thanks

I assume -3 is softer in all settings. Why would they change it between main settings?

I, too, tend to agree. But, then I got to thinking that "+" is more (more harder). Would that mean that "+" in soft, is more also? (more softer) Investigation continues.

It is softer and it changes in range with the preload adjustments.

In the fine tuning mode, + is always harder and - is always softer, regardless which coarse setting is selected. It would be completely illogical to change the meaning of the fine tuning + & - signs when a different coarse setting is selected. Imagine how confusing that would be trying to set up your bike! I saw a nice chart or graph somewhere (can't find it on-line) that showed the relationship between all the damping coarse and fine settings. The information came from Yamaha as I recall, perhaps in was in the owners or service manual?
