For a week anyway. This photo was nearing Tarbes in southern France, generally staying in the slow lane. The traffic in the left lane was doing 185. Never saw an officer or speeder pulled over and the locals know where the speed cameras are placed. Most of them even are pre-signed on the road.

Yes it is in kph and the green light indicates the cruise control is set.

Man, France sure has changed, they used to all drive like maniacs.
Quite rare now, like in the UK where the "White Van Man" used to be the fastest bloke on the road.

Years of nanny state interference has ruined things here and in France, speeding is a cash cow and the scape goat for all road accidents (despite less than 5% of UK Accidents involving speeding vehicle) rather than go after the millions of people that have not got a f'ing clue how to drive it is easier to brain wash everyone into driving slowly and take money off them if they don't.

The French are still far more observant than UK motorists though, and tend to notice motorcyles and move over for them, they are also capable of overtaking slow cars rather than just sitting two inches behind a slower vehicle for miles on end until you have a huge tailback and end up with difficult overtake (normally impossible in a car)

The roads are also quite empty and in good condition, so I love riding in France and cannot wait to get back there ::013::

That Aprilia looks like a great bit of kit too ::008::
