People who really dissect these sorts of things have noted that this isn't quite as impressive as it seems - it actually is an air pump turning on compressed air. There is no fuel or ignition system and the camshafts run at crank speed (rather than half as they would if there was a combustion and exhaust stroke). Nevertheless, very very cool.
