It's gotten to the point now that cable management is a priority on my S10. The whole zip tie the excess wire in a loop and shove it where the tool pouch went no longer is an option with the PCV + AT secured in that area. Busted a fairing clip attempting to get the fairing fastener bolt to secure. ::005::

If you've got a fair amount of wired mods, it'd be great if you would take 5 minutes and snap a pic or two. I'm specifically interested in what people's thoughts are on the Denali D2's control box location. The power lead going to the battery is too short, IMO, and is just "there". Any concerns with lengthening the short power lead coming off the battery?

I'm hesitant to shorten my Zumo 665 6ft power cable with the usb & audio out cables integrated with it...

Thanks!

Karson, I hear you on extra wires. I don't have issues on the Tenere, but back on the ST1300 installing the Audiovox Cruise control. I decided to snip the harness and shorten it to make it look factory. I have never liked loads of open wires bundled together and pushed into a crack or crevice. I would still like to get better using a soldering gun making future connections look real nice!!! (although hidden out of the way). Whenever I see someone who has ever installed some accessory and a single wire is exposed here or there, it sends a cringe in my neck to see this. Some people are just this way.
Good luck with hiding your wires in the small cavity we have for a junction area.

Here is mine as it set a couple of months ago. I have since added a Zumo 665, heated grips, Squadron lights, etc. I can get some more pics when I get home. Most of the wiring follows the same route of the main wiring bundle down from the cockpit, just to the right of the FZ-1 fuzeblock and down. Lots of room to coil up and stash the extra Zumo wiring in there. I still have the stock tool kit in it's stock position and have left room for the PowerCommander and Auto-Tune.

I did 'notch' the plastic just above the FZ-1 to allow the wiring bundle to clear the upper plastic side cover. All fits nice and neat.

If you wouldn't mind snagging a pic of the lower portion sometime tonight, that'd be great. I'd like to see how you have your Power commander goodies finnagled.

Cheers! ::003::

You could have one, if you let the moths loose, ::025::

If my fasteners come in today, I plan on tidying up that area tomorrow. I'll put pride aside my pride and take some detailed before and after photos to show folks how it could be done for them.

Looking to get some like-gauged red wire and extending my positive run for the denalis - that's priority number one. IMO it's too short and just hovers on top of the battery...
