[This thread started as part of the thread about replacing the rear spring on the ES. After an error code showed up and could not be flushed, the dealer replaced both the shock and controller so the posts have been split out to create this new thread as a resource for others in the future. - CW]

Anyone had any issues after swapping spring with ES system, just driving out of driveway triggered ES warning light and #44 error code.

Are you saying you swapped the spring and then immediately got the error code on restarting the bike ? I haven't looked up that code but it may have been set if you did not set the ES System to the lowest setting ie: one-up rider on the display before swapping the spring. The manual discusses this. There is a way to reset it to default by pushing some buttons.

I have been running with the new spring for about a month, even did a trip to the Noob Rally at Death Valley...grin.

Tried re homing the DC motor as described, but unable to do the memory clear as described in the manual with out dealer ECU software.

Well if you have performed the procedure on pg 8-137 of the manual using diagnostic code #84 and still have the #44 fault code, after turning the ignition off and waiting 6 seconds, then as you know it says to replace the SCU :'( Looks like that is a $700.00 part so I would remove it and flush the connections with contact cleaner hoping for the best. Hell flush all the shock connections as well. I'd post this under "Tech discussions" in the electrical board to give it a wider audience. Eager to hear what you find.

Just Bob, what did the dealer find???
Dealer was not able to reset, they are replacing the whole shock and actuator, comes as a unit, covered under extended service warranty.

Dealer ended up not only replacing the shock but had to also replace the controller, which had to come from Japan, 2300.00 total bill.

Bob, I am guessing the dealer did not have a problem with the stock spring being replaced with the Racetech SRSP 6022 spring. Reason I ask is I am considering replacing my stock rear spring with the Racetech SRSP 6022.
