I've just taken delivery of my S10 today and it comes with the factory luggage which I will replace.
Therefore is it possible for me to sell this and for someone to rekey it to fit their key?

All Tenere's come with the locks so they would just use the locks that came with there bike.
Sorry confused by your reply.
My luggage is obviously keyed to my key.
If I sell to someone who doesn't have the luggage what would they need to do to be able to use it? Buy new locks or is there a way to rekey it? Looking in the luggage manuals and installation it doesn't mention it at all.
So did mine arrive from the factory already keyed, did the dealer do it, and if so is there a procedure to change the locks.

Dave, there is a part number for the lock barrels as a set and individually (check the accessories page @ Yamaha UK). New XT12s should indeed be supplied with a set of 3 barrels coded to the ignition key whether or not you buy the luggage, but I don't know if that's always the case in practice. I don't think you'll be able simply to recode the barrels already fitted to the luggage supplied with your bike.

EDIT: The accessories action seems to have migrated to here:

Great thanks so I need to factor in to the selling price that someone will need to buy new locks then.

I don't think it will be a significant cost regardless, but as the previous poster said, Yamaha did ship every S10 with three lock barrels coded to the ignition key that are designed to fit in the factory accessory luggage. Now some dealers may have threw them in the trash when they delivered a bike w/o luggage and some owners may have lost them. But they were supposed to come with every bike.

Priced reasonably, you should have no trouble selling your luggage - you might get a little more money on Ebay, but you could run an ad here. (This forum does tend to be US-centric and shipping costs are going to be significant. I suspect the market in Europe for used luggage is softer because if the 1st edition bikes having the luggage bundled with the bike, whether it was desired or not.) Despite the complaints, there are many who prefer the factory system.

Ahhh ok I get it now... so someone that bought a bike without luggage should have been provided with 3 locks regardless ready in case they subsequently bought luggage.
Yeh one of the problems is that I'm the UK but I may stick an advert on just in case before I eBay them.

If the person buying them is going to use them on there Tenere. Then they have the 3 extra lock sets that came with there bike. (under the seat) All S10s come with the locks weather you got the bags or not.
All they would have to do is install them into the boxes. If they use them on some other bike then they will have to rekey them.
