Thanks for the constructive criticism. Just what I was looking for on a forum such as this. Thank you for your input I will put it under consideration.

In that same breath how do you learn new skills and abilities if you don't try? I'm not going to not work on my motorcycles or anything just because the schematics and diagrams are pixelated and hieroglyphs. Process of elimination always yields the correct answers.

I'm really starting to wonder if this isn't just a troll thread. You do a great job of ignoring the questions asked.

Tip, if 12V electrical isn't your strongest skill set, don't cut wires.

Thanks for all the stabs at what could have been the issue with this situation. It was great food for thought as I was troubleshooting. In the end it all boiled down to me pulling the battery and trickle charging it by itself along with checking all the connections for the wiring/fuses and reinstalling the battery.

Still a bit baffled as to why it happened but I've been riding the last two days and everything is working as advertised. Even after jumping a few speed bumps and a median nothing has rattled loose or caused it to odd to happen.

Thanks again and here's some pictures of what I've done

Yamaha sells the paper factory service manuals. If you're going to work on your bike, would you rather rely on the internet or the actual first hand info from the factory service manual?

If you want to learn new skills, find someone to mentor you in person. Diagnosing a problem does not just mean process of elimination, it means understanding the system and following a process of testing to eliminate or confirm.

You basically did what we first suggested. Isolate and charge the battery and check your work. The annoying part was you didn't seem to want to hear that answer and continued to focus on a symptom instead of the problem.

Glad you got it sorted.

Just an FYI, since you're new and may not be familiar with all of the players here: EricV has been here since the start and, with the exception of a very few other members I can think of, has probably forgotten more about fixing the Tenere than all of the other forum member's knowledge combined.

I get that it's easy to assume snark in a post when none was intended but if you're intent on learning the intricacies of repairing the S10 (and this is the greatest collective source of knowledge on that subject), it's best to respectfully accept any help offered here. Bike forums are no place for thin skin.

Glad you got it sorted, and welcome to the fold, just please take a bit of time to get to know the regulars here and learn the personalities before making assumptions about another member's character.

And if someone really get's on your nerves, you can simply hover over thier username in any post and chose "ignore"....you'll never see any content from them again. ;)

Huh. I guess I never really paid attention to that. That explains a few things. Apparently, there's a few here that have me on ignore. Sometimes what I put in my posts gets repeated like I never posted them.

Sometimes that's just the 'Dad effect' where they need you to say it twice before listening. ;)

I suspect that might be attributed to internet forum short attention span syndrome. Someone reads a post, skips the next 27 entries and rushes to the end to post his thoughts/opinions/solutions, without realizing that 10 previous posters already offered up the same information he just put up there.
