Id have to say that it performed very well. Pushed it back just enough to leave a tiny mark on a header pipe. Banged and straightened everything back out and reinstalled it with minimal effort. I'll run a bead over the gash when I have time.

It happened on a dirt road in pisgah. Leaves covered a washed out corner and I absolutely slammed the bike on a hidden rock. Wife on the back and all. It required quite a foot plant to recover from the violence. I was quite happy to be wearing my sg10s and not my silly "adventure" boots.

Not the first time I've used my 3lb hammer to "fix" the skid plate, but that's the first time I punched a hole in it.

Exactly! That just proves these things aren't just window dressing. Glad things went well for you. And your passenger.

That's a hard hit to punch a hole in the plate. Glad it didn't turn out any worse than a minor gash!

Couple good whacks with a sledge will fix it...
