Keep on going........ don't let them win..
For Sale is one of the original 2012 Yamaha Super Teneres that was pre-ordered in 2011. Yamaha gave the option of canceling the order when Japan was hit with the tsunami that summer. But if you belonged to this group, and decided to maintain your order, the Die Hard stickers were distributed so we could identify our bikes.
The bike has 4 original miles on it. As the GPS shows, all the mileage has been up and down my driveway. The bike has never been on the road. Trailered home from Dealer and back to Dealer.
This bike was purchased for me by my wife as a gift and motivational tool, I was having back surgery (broken back), so that come next spring I would be up and going. But unfortunately things didn’t work out as hoped. I have numbness and weakness in my left leg and foot. And with that, you cannot stand, balance nor shift. And so I have finally given in to the fact that I cannot ride as I wish. So what I have built will become someone else’s bike to enjoy.
For the bike, in the pictures you will notice that it has 2 sets of scratches on it. Both were done while the bike was not moving. I was straddling the bike working on balance and my left leg gave out on me. The first time was without crash bars and the second time was with the crash bars. Both times when the bike fell, it landed on my left leg and it was down for no more than minute before it was lifted and placed on its kickstand.
While I was recovering, I spent the time researching and ordering parts for the bike. I built the bike so it could take a great deal of punishment and keep going. I did not take any short cuts in any way shape or form. I believe if you do it right the first time and you will not have to worry about it again.
