Looking at the interest in having a Rally/Get Together in September at Manchester Beach KOA in (DUH) Manchester, CA. I've thrown together a couple of sidecar rally's there and they're very accomidating to bikes. There are LOTS of way cool rides nearby, a store on site with beer and ice, a very good grocery store .7 miles away, cabins and lodges (for us old creaky guys) and tent spaces that are quite nice. If we have enough people, tent spaces are $9. There are SERIOUS local twisty roads, several dirt roads, and lots of neato things to see. (Pt Arena Lighthouse, Mendocino, Anderson Valley, Fish Rock Rd, Lost Coast, Redwoods, Ft Bragg...(North Coast Brewery... ::003:: )Booneville.....Tim, do your Magic Google Shit here.... ::024::) Who, if anyone, might be interested??

BTW, thinking about the 2nd or 3rd weekend in Sept. Weather (on the California coast) is just about perfect then. Fog is gone, (usually) and days are warm and sunny, nights cool and clear ( I hope).

Let me know.

BTW, IF I put this on, there are NO T-shirts, NO stickers and NO whining. YOU are responsible for any and all reservations. I will do the ground work as far as setting it up with the KOA. If someone wants to cover the 1st 2, knock yourself out. It would be appreciated by all....but I ain't gonna do it. I am lazy and do not need extra hassles in life. I just want to get together with like minded folks and have a good time.

It could happen. A bit err, altered now, but Sept is pretty open. not much for a camping guy, too old, but still, CA is not so far away. Hard to type w/o making mistakes. Put it on, (wanker), and they will come.

A Few Highlights -
By far this is only a couple locations. Highway 1, 101, and 128 have many nooks and crannys along the way.
E: Zen House is a small motorcycle shop. Dave and Kelley are good people and usually have hot coffee available.
E: Across the street is Point Arena General Store. Small though has very good sandwiches, soup, excellent coffee, and a small town feel.
F: is the Bones Roadhouse in Gualala. Good BBQ

Off-Road

I don't know the dirt or gravel roads in this area. If you know of any please let us know. There has to be a bunch of roads on the ridges. I do know of one road, Usal Road, but that is another trip.

Hope you can make the trip Eric. I prefer moteling but will camp with the others and enjoy campfires and camaraderie. As for being old I will be turning 65 between the 2nd and 3rd weekend of September. Let me know if you want to travel before and after and we can share some roads.

Sounds like a "maybe" for me. I have a Honda ST event in early September in Golden CO, that I will be at and perhaps I can make this too if the timing is right!!

Lots of potential fun. I'll be finishing up a ten day endurance rally the first weekend of Sept, so probably won't be up for heading back out the next weekend, but might be ok the 3rd weekend of Sept and maybe talk the wife into coming along.

As far as the camping, the evenings are fun, but there are other difficulties at the moment. I may be better able to do the camping then, you never know. The wife would never give up a soft bed for a tent though. :)

Nice work on the maps Tim! Like you said, lots of fun roads to explore in that area.

Eric, there are cabins which are right next to the tenting area (basic with beds, heater) or for more $ there are "lodges" that have all the amenities including kitchens.

I'm in and excited. I would prefer staying in one of the cabins if there's one available. If the cabins come with 2 or more beds, I'm not opposed to sharing.

Any more word on firm dates?
