Apart from fitting the Puig engine bars to my 2011- S10 I've not really laid a spanner on it, So at 15,000 miles I thought plugs and Air filter would be a good start! Nice and slow was the order of the day and taking note of whats all under the tank area, Before I really got started I took off the rubber trim that goes round the tank seam on the base and just in the nick of time, only slight corrossion on one side but enough for justifying taking it off....what a stupid idea! british cars had rubber trim all over them in the 60's/70's and it was a water trap then causing rust, so what a Japanese designer was thinking of in 2010 fitting this to a tank god only knows?
Anyway back to the job in hand, I made the same observations others on here have found, M6 coil bolts locktighted in and tight, slight water ingress in No1 cylinder coil packs and plugs slightly furred up, Engine to air box hose PITA and found the best answer was to disconnect at cylinder head to give more length then re-attach when air box is in place, I found a slight film of oil in the intake end of the air box, not excessive I dont think for 15,000 miles, and I cleaned the little plastic bowl/sight glass as well to monitor it in the future, I smeared the coil pack seals with Synthetic grease to make a better seal and make it easier to push down when re-fitting, and as alway's the Yamaha tool kit sparkplug tool worked a treat ::008::
not a bad job as long as nothing breaks and you observe everything, including the spacer washers on either side of the airbox that fit in the rubber mounts that can drop out when you lift the airbox out, and remember to block off the iar intakes with paper/rag to stop crap falling in there, and when youv'e taken all the screws out around the airbox and it won't come apart.....there's one screw under the rubber plug in the middle (sneaky that one) ::003::

After reading this. I pulled the rubber strip off the tank edge to take a peak. Man am I glad. Rust was starting to get to the edge of mine too. A piece of paint came off while I was cleaning it up. My bike is a 2013. It would have gotten ugly.

That lost screw way down in the center of the air box lid, love that one. I was thinking of installing a hex head in it's place.
Something about fumbling around on that damn screw.. ::010::
