Hi all am attempting to fit these on my ES. Question is tracing back the original grip wires to their source. I cant see where they go. Do i need to lift the tank to do this ?. Any other tips would be welcome. Have had a read up from here but everyone says its easy but no mention of tracking back the original wires. Thanks for any answers.

Thanks Rob. Am going to get back on it tomorrow. Might have to lift the tank to get in there. Someone might post up something before then.

Not sure if this will help, but it's my understanding that they track back to a four pin coupling that is in the vicinity of the three pin accessory coupling. On the right side behind the fairing. Don't quote me as I don't have an ES but explored the wiring and had a vain hope of connecting my Oxford grips to the OEM plug. Not sure where the wiring goes from there. If you are looking for a different connection point I can't help. And there's no reason to remove the four pin plug and its wiring. But maybe it will help with the wire tracing.

You'll like the Oxford grips. I've got them on two bikes and like the feel as well as the heat. You'll need to get the right orientation of the wires to keep the grips from bumping into the end of the bulky bit on the inside of the throttle grip but it's not a big deal. I recall that the arrow that is supposed to point down needs to point roughly forward.

OH. just to pull the wires, there are two little gray clips with two wires each in one of the bundles under the right side cover. That's how I pulled mine out.
Are these the ES heated grips conectors there are 2 plugs with 2 pins in each plug.20200729_134317_HDR.jpg
