Just ordered a brand new blue/silver xt1200z.

Not got the bike yet, chose to wait and get it on a `16 plate. Decided on a Tenere last Autumn, spent the time between doing a bit of research - learning that the 2015+ models have cruise control was the final decider. Ordered it with absolutely no bits bolted on - so lots of farkling to do.

I've been on a `12 DL650 for a bit under 2 years, done ~40k on it in that time, still love the v-strom & keeping it as the part-ex offer was a joke. Planning on doing a lot more on the Tenere - passage to Norway booked for the summer (2nd year running) & will spend a couple of weeks in the highlands, plus countless weekends in Wales.

So yeah, Hi!

::004:: from a dismal Bedfordshire. Will it ever stop raining this winter! Anyway, where are you from in the UK?

Enjoy the new S10. There is loads of info/help here & plenty of farkling ideas that will empty your wallet.

Your WeeStrom - popular bike, should sell easily around Easter, but you will have to recognise that the mileage will need to be reflected in the price, so it may be better to 'bite the bullet'. It's a seasonal thing too, with dealers stuffed full of trade-ins & our silly twice yearly reg. change that distorts the market.

Thanks for the greetings all - I'm already counting down the days until delivery.

Dogdaze/Squib - I'm in the Midlands - near Leicester, recent import from a bit further south in the Midlands though so I don't know the area well.

Regarding the vstrom - it is worth so much more as a bike than it's cash value, mileage aside it runs beautifully and will continue to do so for another 60k i'm sure. I'll keep it for when the S10 is in for a service (thankfully far less frequently than the Suzuki), for when I need luggage before I get the new bike equipped, and for loan-bikes as a few friends are in the process of acquiring their licences.

Welcome from a little south in the Cotswolds.

I have a V-Strom as well, it was the Mrs first bike and when she bought a new one I too thought it was worth more to us than the cash value, now my commuter bike.

I think you will like the S10, it feels like a premium product after riding the V-Strom and is a good step up for a do-it-all last-forever bike ::008::
