I am a new member. Just bought a brand new 2015 Super Tenere 1200 ES. I moved up from a KLR650. Wow do I love my new bike.
First question, is there a tool for the rear gear oil plug/filler?

Welcome to the forum and the ST!

My brother had a KLR and put thousands and thousands of miles on it. Had a big bore kit on it etc. I enjoyed riding it the few times I did but there is nothing like the Tenere. ::022::

Greetings from Malta and welcome to the forum.
Final gear oil plug uses a normal box/socket spanner and the filler cap use a normal Allen key (also referred to as a hex key).

Thank you everyone for the welcome. I only glanced at the final gear, I'm doing my 600 mile oil change and check this weekend. Thanks for the info. Any other tips?

Lots of them and they are organized into headings that you will see if you click on FORUM at the upper left.
