OK Yall, since I got my S10 back, Id like to start making it "perfect"

Right now, I have the 44L Givi side cases and the Givi rear rack. I only have the 2 side cases and rarely feel the need for a top case, not to mention the cases tend to rattle on the top plate for some reason.

So Im planning on getting the Altrider tail rack, possibly the passenger seat plate as well, but id want to remove the grab bars. I have those side racks so I dont know how I would take them off and keep the racks?

Id also like to see if theres any "trick" storage points, as I saw a guy with a hard case mounted inside his rack for tools that sat behind the cases when mounted.

Id also like to find crash bar bags, nothing too big really, as well as a good waterproof (ie: no rain cover) tank bag

The side cases can generally hold most everything I need aside from camp furniture, so Im thinking about finding a good waterproof tail bag to go on the seat and possibly rear rack as well. Im thinking the Twisted Throttle D38 bag

Hardware store, buy spacers the same thickness as the hand holds.

As Don in Lodi says, it is easy to ditch the handles.

I fabbed up a flat plate that replaces the pillion seat and tail rack area, giving a nice flat space. I don't have a pic with it bare, but this pic just shows an auxiliary fuel cell on top:

This pic shows yet another fuel cell, but with the eye of faith you can see the space available. In fact the slots you see on the top were for buckling on a Twisted Throttle Drybag (38L?):

I now run a pelican up on the fuel cell, but used the Drybag on my FJR for a while:

Adding tool tubes attached to the rear of any panniers you choose adds some handy, though small storage pods:

Pull the handles off, drive the inserts out (super easy), reinstall spacers sans handles. That's what I did.
I am running the Altrider rear racks, passenger and tail.

at this point, i think i have the handle situation figured. With the Altrider rear, Ill just install it in the high position so its flush with the rear seat. that way ill be able to keep the handles as tie points and as lift points in case of a nap. and that way I can run a large bag on the rear length wise to us as a backrest potentially
