Have had my bike a couple of months, and really pleased with it. Never had a better bike!
Sold my Tiger and XT660R to buy it, both of which had done some good touring but the S10 is just fabulous.
Mods so far,

SW Motec crash bars
Yam FJR heated grips, half the price of the S10 ones and a more normal fit, same controller, mounted in wasp position, with Grip Puppies overgrips.
Bar brace and Touratech bar bag (from my Tiger)
Touratech screen mount with Skidmarkz tall screen, and Kriege wallet/bag behind screen
Starcom
TomTom car style GPS with Ram mount
Yam Headlight guard
LED running lights under headlight with home made bracket.
Kriege fork seal covers
Louder horn (not sure what type, had it in the garage)
Home made aluminium rear underguard mudflap and sidepanel
Touratech brake pedal extension
Touratech pillion seat rack
FJR topbox , home made adaptor to use FJR plate
Motrax LED indicators
Touratech copy rear mudguard extension.
Front fender extender

Have bought the Yam tankbag, which is excellent but can also recommend the Hein gericke Tourag bag which works great when you need less space.
Experimenting with a pair of Laminar Lip wind deflectors, which may go on tomorrow
Waiting for a SW Motec bash plate to be delivered, and waiting for the final development of Metal Mule balanced pannier system/Scorpion can,

Nice mod's! I've had a car style GPS on my bikes until now, because they have so much more features. The last one I had (Sanyo Gorilla for JDM) used an internal gyro whenever the GPS signal was blocked...very useful feature. I finally decided to go with an MC style for the waterproof factor. It works well and even has a integrated RADAR detector. The one thing I don't like is the bluetooth, which appears to be headset only. I really wish it had the on screen dialer, but I suppose that's a nit pick.

I use a car TomTom, and have done for 8 years, initially a 910 (with internal hard drive, that survived 20,000 bike miles including the Dalton Highway, and is now in my car with its 10GB of mp3 files), and then a 920, with 4GB SD card for music , wired into my Starcom. Last Xmas I got a Zumo 660, which I fitted with a Tourratech locking mount to my XT660 for a trans Canada/Labrador Highway trip, thinking it would be a great improvement on the TomTom; well the Zumo was a disaster and I have since had a refund under warranty on it and will buy the latest TomTom car unit. I have never really had an issue with the weather proofing, I just gather shower caps from motels and use a rubber band. I much prefer the TomTom software and like the big touch screen) The Garmin has great features but I find the software complicated and mine was so unreliable I would never go down that route again.

Yeah, considered a Zumo, but their maps aren't as refined as what is availble on domestic Japanese models...I'm REALLY glad I didn't get one after reading your experience. I became sort of complacent with my car GPS to the exent that I often neglected to cover it when rain was falling.
