They are due to show up Thursday. Man I keep hoping they will come early!! I can't wait to get them mounted up!

I bought an assortment of spacers to have on hand. I am going to remove the passenger grab rails and see how close I can get them bags mounted.

And I know.....

I will update with pics when they arrive. I was VERY tempted to get the charcoal color on my blue bike, but ended up sticking with black. I think they will match the swingarm better..
I have wanted Jesse bags for years! Can't wait!!

Great! I have mine spaced out right now so that grab rails are usable, but eventually want to ditch the rails and get the bags in tight. They are at around 37" now, my bet is 35.5 is about as tight as they'll go.

Just a tip - when you bolt into the the grab rail holes, be carefull... I believe they are blind threads and reusing the stock bolt could strip the thread. You might want to have some shorter bolts on hand.

Thanks for the tip! I will try to get to the hardware store again and get a few shorter bolts. I like to take my time and do things right the first time, but I can wait to drive to work and actually have a place to store my riding gear again!

The bags arrived. I have just barely started to mess with the install. I am pretty sure the spacers I have on hand now will work out just right. However, DCstrom was right, I am going to need shorter bolts. Planning to pick them up tonight and see if I can get it all buttoned up. The bolts look to be like 1" too long, so I think that these bags are gonna be pretty tightly installed. ::008::

Pics and measurements to follow....

Here's a crappy garage pic

I also painted my rear deck cover and the luggage rack black to match. I will post more pics after work sometime.

I ended up not needing any different spacers, just shorter bolts. I couldn't get them any tighter unless I were to cut off the plastic "loops" on the rear deck cover. Right now the mounting brackets are right tight against them. I am pretty sure this is as narrow as you could go with out cutting plastic...

Here are the spacers prior to tightening

That is a good looking mount and bags. I wish SW-Motech could have gotten their racks to follow the bike that nice.. :(

Looks Like I missed taking shots of the mounting brackets, without the bags. I will pop them off soon and get a close up of the left and right sides. These things are massive! It felt great not carrying all my riding gear, tank bag, etc into work today. The jesses easily swallowed my huge tank bag, riding pants, rain gear, & heated jacket.

.........and that was just the left saddle bag, the smaller one! ::013::

Here is one more of 'ol Babe out in the "wild"

Hey maddog,

I just had the rear seat off and was reminded that you can remove the stock plastic luggage tray that sits underneath it. Moulded into that tray are the luggage loops - the ones you were saying would have to be cut to get the racks in any tighter... I didn't remove the tray since I don't have the right torx tool, but will remove it eventually. Planning to do away with the pillion seat and probably mount a topbox there - which will require a new luggage tray (H&B make one, not sure who else).

Anyway, if you want to experiment with removing the tray and moving the bags in, please go ahead ;)
