Mogollon Rim Ride 5-26-12

We caught a lucky break in the weather here on the surface of the sun this weekend, so we went for a ride! We rode from Phoenix up to Payson, then on to Forest Road 300, which runs across the top of the Mogollon Rim

Stopped at the Woods Lake turnoff to regroup before proceeding to the dirt...

And stopping for strawberry pie at the Strawberry Lodge in Strawberry, AZ. I dug in a bit before snapping the pic!

That's the end of the photo essay, we split up at the lodge, some going back through Payson, while others rode out through Camp Verde. Did I mention it was windy? There were a few places on FR300 were the wind was strong enough to move us around (kinda hairy on a gravel strewn road!), and the headwind coming back down into Phoenix from Camp Verde was brutal...and really affected my gas mileage! I was more sore than I expected last night, but boy did I sleep like a baby!
