May ride in Oregon

Hi guys, The PNW Tenere group are meeting for their May ride ( May 10/11)at the Rodchester exit of I-5/US12( Mcdonalds/gas station) at 0900 for a 0930 departure for Vernonia to meet up w/ the Oregon guys and lunch by 1145-1200 at the Blue Cafe. From there we head thru the forest to Tillamook then back thru the forest to The Grand Lodge(Mcmenamans) in Forest Grove. The one w/ the 95 degree soaking pool ;D Sunday will be a pick your own route back home. A few of us will be taking a ferry back across the Columbia. All are welcome, just reply to here or on Facebook if you will be showing up.

As of a couple days ago, The GrandLodge had 30 rooms available at rates from $45-$85 a night. They have several restaurants and bars so you won't need to leave, did I mention the 95 degree soaking pool?

A couple of us from Victoria are thinking of coming down for this.Probably come down Friday and overnight in Washington St. Either meet up at I5 meeting place or perhaps at Cafe in Oregon.We'll watch here for more info in the next while.

It's shaping up to be a great ride, rain or shine! 6-8 riders so far! A few won't be staying at the Grand Lodge but thats cool, One has even stepped up to show us an off road "2 track" route out of Tillamook east thru the forest. ::014::

Our timeline tomorrow( Saturday May 10) is something like this +/- 30 min
Depart Grand Mound exit US12 /I-5 McDonalds at 0930
In Longview at 1030
Lunch in Vernonia at the Blue House Cafe 1100-1230
Tillamook cheese factory 2-3PM
South to Beaver then Carlton on FR 85/Nestucca River Rd
At the Grand Lodge in Forest grove about 6pm

Thanks to those that made it! A little wet after lunch then it's cleared up from there. The route was as good as it gets. Here is a pic of us at the tillimook cheese factory.

Thanks to NorthwestCajun and wife for sharing there place with us for the night and leading us around for a nice day trip. Hope we can get together again. Yes we made it back to the ferry with some time to spare.

It was good meeting all of you. And an extra thanks to NorthwestCajun for showing us some great back road rides you folks have in your area.
And I still think we owe our photographer Chris at least a gallon of gas for his riding ahead of us to get some great pics. of the group. Looking forward to the Aug. 16-17th ride and will probably have one more along for that one. Bernie
