This year, on the 23rd June, I have decided to do something that I have been thinking about doing for some time. At the same time I am hoping to raise lots of money for Acorns Childrens Hospice.
Acorns Children’s Hospice provides care and support for children and young people who have life limiting or life threatening conditions and provides support for their families. It costs £750 per day for each child’s care. Acorns relies on the community to fund over 70% of its activities.
I am going to ride from John O'Groats to Land's End in one day on my Yamaha Super Ténéré. This is the longest distance between any two points on the UK mainland and amounts to around 860 miles. Starting out at Sunrise at around 0400 I have 17.5 hours of light until Sunset at 2130. [I guess some of you guys from the US probably travel this far to work and back but to us guys it's the furthest we can go without falling off the edge!]
If you would like to support me in this challenge and help the children and their families that are supported by this amazing charity please make a donation by either visiting: -
www.justgiving.com/stevengshaw
(Justgiving accepts donation from anywhere in the world. Donations are in UK £ but will appear on your credit card bill in local currency)
Or TEXT SHAW50 £2 / £5 / £10 to 70070
(This text is free and every penny of your donation reaches the charity. This text service only works in the UK)
THANKS IN ANTICIPATION
